Who We Are
Here in The Narrow Space we pride ourselves in sourcing a wide range of gifts and artwork. Most of what we stock is Irish and we complement it with some quirky European pieces. Each one is unique and in its own way is a statement piece, whether it costs €5 or €5000!
You’re very welcome to The Narrow Space Gallery & Gifts website! I opened the bricks and mortar business on the pedestrianised Mitchel Street (known locally as ‘the narrow street’) in the lovely town of Clonmel in November 2003 – which makes us 20 years old this year! A blow in from Dublin, with a varied background working in theatre, the arts and pr, I came to Clonmel for a short term work contract, met a man and I’m still here all these years later (and we’re married!).
Over the years, the lovely gallery space has hosted many great opening nights, with local artists mingling with visiting artists and the many, many art lovers in this great community – with lots of red dots appearing on the walls! Our 20th Anniversary exhibition will be a celebration and it’s on SUNDAY 3 DECEMBER at 3.30pm. Please come and join us!
And our gift shop downstairs has grown from small beginnings to now showcasing the work of over 70 Irish makers and designers, complemented by a selection of work by interesting international designers and makers. All of this combines to make The Narrow Space such a unique and special place. Enjoy meeting this selection of designers and makers who comprise The Narrow Space!
