Milis

Fee Young launched Milis in early March 2020 after 14 months of research and experimentation. Having worked as a nurse in cancer care for over twenty years, she says  creating with her hands is a lovely departure from her day to day. In early 2019, she was out of work with an injury for around six weeks and it was then that she started making little vintage tea cup candles for family and friends. She just loved the ritual of mixing oils & pouring wax. The more she researched, she discovered that many candles contain harmful ingredients. Her house would always have a candle burning somewhere in the evening, so this really resonated with her. Getting to know the candle making process better led Fee to seek out more natural alternatives and the idea for Milis was born.

Based on this idea, all of  her candles and wax melts use natural, recyclable, re-usable or ethically sourced materials and she always strives to find these as locally as possible. She uses 100% natural soy wax, wicks made from cotton and paper and the oils used to produce the scent are a mix of essential oils and high quality fragrance oils which are vegan, paraben and phatalate free. She uses glass jars & bottles with a beautiful gold lid which can be easily re-used and they are packaged with recyclable labels and brown card packaging.

Message from Fee

‘It is also important to me to give something back. This was part of the plan for the business from day one and from very early on, it was clear who I would like to support. I worked with the Irish Cancer Society a few years ago and I saw the money donated going directly to research and cancer services, making a real difference to patients and families. From our first order, 5% of the profits from the wholesale side of Milis is being donated to the Irish Cancer Society.’
