Rachel Corcoran is a freelance illustrator from Dublin. She provides illustrations and designs for children’s books, editorial, branding and advertising. She also illustrates delicious food concepts for Kerry Group. In a previous life, Rachel was an art historian and archaeologist, and her love and knowledge of long-forgotten worlds is captured within my work.

Utilising digital mediums in a traditional manner has helped her to establish a characteristic style, which has been described as “a mix of pretty with a healthy dash of wit.” Her illustrations are inspired by her love of vintage ephemera and old botanical prints. This fascination manifests in her choice of subject matter; and her love of faded, muted tones and tarnished textures. Her work is imbued with narrative and nostalgia – fueled by personal memories, and her love of reading books that are set in times long ago.
