Art Enriches Life?

In exploring this question I was compelled to examine my own thoughts and had no hesitation in answering with a resounding Yes!  Art enriches life in so many ways, through poetry, literature, theatre, dance, film, architecture etc.  which permeate all aspects of our lives. My first love is for visual art.

My work deals with the elements of energy, colour and emotion, deeply rooted in my belief that art is a human need, enriching the body and the mind, enriching life.

This work comes from a love of fluid form, the real and imagined, from deep within the art space in my humanity. It is a spontaneous response to the world around us, to life itself.  My works are abstract landscape /seascape /spacescape, coming from different spheres, yet have an affinity with each other.

So what is art for? It reaches a place that is human, evokes responses, emotions, higher thinking; it delights, intrigues, calms, surprises. It expresses, clarifies, obfuscates. Sometimes it repels. It has a spiritual dimension, adds to and reflects life. Art can provide social commentary, be political, satirical, incite to action, reaction. All these things enhance life, adding to the richness of an already beautiful and sometimes troubled world.
