Money Talks is a graphite drawing completed as a part of my ‘Mind over Matter’ series. Like my other works, this graphite drawing is a blend of hyperrealism and surrealism, giving it a deep meaning to it. I wanted to create a work that makes you think about money, and how it effects a person’s life, in good or bad ways. The mouth of capital is shown through the coins in the teeth, and the rolled up notes as the lips. Partly inspired by my own life during that period, Money talks is an emotional telling of what money can do to somebody.

Response to ‘Art Enriches Life?’

Art has always been about the viewer, more specifically the viewer’s reaction to a piece of work. I believe that the artwork has always been about leaving the viewer to interpret what the meaning of an artwork is, the more mysterious the better. When a viewer looks at a blank white canvas, one might question “What does this mean?”. But a better question is, “How does this make me feel?”. Each question is important, but the latter questions the viewers subjective nature of the world, thus making a work more meaningful to the viewer. That is why art enriches life, as it is about what viewers reflect their own lives into a piece of work.
