Screenprint on Paper
Born in Dublin, Ireland, Bernadette Madden studied in the School of Painting at the National College of Art and Design, graduating in 1970. She works mainly in batik (wax resist on linen) and also makes screenprints on paper. Her work is in the collections of the Arts Council, the Office of Public Works, the Bank of Ireland and the Ulster Museum. Awards include the Macauley Fellowship in Painting.
Back in 2012 we were thrilled when Bernadette had a solo show here in The Narrow Space, which was opened by Dr Martin Mansergh She produced a number of Batiks and Screenprints with local themes. This is one of the remaining screenprints of the River Suir.
